Consecration Of The East Anglian Lodge, No. 2920.

In the course of an eloquent oration , the Right Rev . the Bishop of Barking said they svere meeting as strong believers in Masonry , svhich svas advancing by such rapid strides , and they realised the fact that Masonry svas beginning to be recognised as a power for good throughout the world . All svere now rejoicing at the proclamation of peace , and none more than Masons , as peace on earth svas their aim . The

keep up their esprit dc corps , so also did professions and counties . This lodge svas formed for a like object , and no doubt , as Freemasonry svas very strong in East Anglia , it svould carry out its useful purpose .

lino . T . sv . XORMAX , s . n . Bro . the Earl of Warwick , as Deputy Grand Master , constituted the lodge , and assured the founders that , as Provincial Grand Master of Essex , he should take a keen interest in their success .

At the conclusion of the consecration the Grand Secretary installed the R . W . Bro . the Earl of -Stradbroke , P . G . W ., as W . M ., svho invested Bro . Herbert Cox as S . W ., and Bro . E . Lisock as J . W . The Consecrating Officers svere elected lion , members , and the Consecrating Master presented with a founder's

jewel . Eighteen candidates svere proposed for initiation and Jive for joining . At the banquet svhich followed , the usual loyal toasts svere enthusiastically honoured .

In proposing the toast of "The Grand Master , " theW . M . reminded the brethren that the Most W orshipful Grand Master , the Duke of Connaught , svas that day doing his duty as a Mason in laying the foundation-stone of the nesv wing at Charing Cross Hospital .

, upon the fine list of candidates svhich had been proposed . In the absence of Bro . Letchworth , the toast of " The Consecrating Officers" svas replied to by the Bishop of Barking , who expressed their pleasure in performing svhat had ; been a labour of love , and in the name of all svho had

taken part he wished them a successful career . The toast of " The Worshipful Master " was proposed by Bro . C . J . Drummond , svho doubted not but that every

Stradbroke . When looking round to fix upon the best possible Mason qualified to be their Master in the various counties , they thought of Suffolk , and lo think of Suffolk svas to think of the noble Earl , and when the post svas offered hini through the kindly offices of Bro . Col . Vane Stosve , he accepted it , as he svas a keen Mason and svould spare no trouble in the interests of East Anglia .
