1721 , the Grand Master , with his Wardens , the former Grand Officers , and the Masters and Wardens of tAvelve Lodges , met the Grand Master elect , at the Queen ' s Arms Tavern , in St . Paul's Church Yard , in the morning , and having confirmed the election of Br . Montague , they made several new brothers , particularly , Philip Lord Stanhope , afterwards Earl

of Chesterfield , and walked on foot from thence to the Hall ( in proper clothing and in due form ); where they were joyfully received by about one hundred and fifty brethren , all clothed . They then sat doAA'n to a very elegant feast after the ancient manner of Masons . After dinner , the Past Grand Master made the first procession round the Hall , and when returned , he proclaimed aloud , the most noble Brother John Montague ,
