LIST OF LODGES ( CONSTITUTIONS ) , 1756 .
BY BRO . B . P . GOITIB . T-HE " official" lists of the last century—viz ., those published under the direct sanction of Grand Lodge—comprise the lists printed with tbe Constitutions of 1723 1738 , and 1756 , and the engraved series of 1723-79 . ' ' The 1723 list ( Constitutions ) has been several times reprinted . That for 1738 appeared in the number of this
April Magazine ( p . 433 ) , and the list for 1756 is subjoined . On the 27 th April , 1754 , a committee was appointed to reA'ise the then current Book of Constitutions ( Ed , 1738 ) , of AvhicbBro . George Payne ( P . G . M . ) was appointed a member . This distinguished brother , however , attended Grand Lodge for the last time in _ the November of the same year , ancl was probably prevented b y increasing mnrmities from taking any active part in the proceedings of the Committee .
