able manner in which Bro . Franklin , carried out the duties of the lodge as AV . M ., ancl proposed that his services be recognized by presenting him with a testimonial . Four candidates were exalted to the Royal Arch degree , and several others were proposed for exaltation at the ensuing meeting of the chapter . During the ceremony Comp . A . Pendlebury occupied the principal chair . When tbe chapter was closed , a

splendid banquet and dessert were served , and a very agreeable evening was spent , the party breaking up in time to return to Waterloo by the 9-26 train . The M . E . Z ., Comp . F . Smith , was present , Cbnij . James Terry , P . Z ., officiated as H . ; Comp . R . AA . Little , P . Z ., as J ..- Comp . H . G . Bass , P . Z . and Treas ., woro also present .
